Due to making my presence at the Dorman game for our 30 year reunion, I was able to watch Dorman in person. Was not real impressed with Dorman or Boiling Springs. Dormans QB is a lil shifty but seemed to be running for his life due to poor O-line play. Over threw receivers.. didn't seem comfortable with stepping up into the pocket...poor reads down the field. Dorman has two reliable(Not great) running backs but if the opposing team has a good D with quickness, They will be detained. Dormans D looked pretty good though. Even though I am not sure if they looked good or if it was the fact BS looked so bad.

BS looked totally confused on both sides of the ball.

As for Byrnes...They seem to be improving week over week. Dorman will have to improve or they will have their hands full when they play Byrnes. From what I saw last night.....Dorman may struggle against Gaffney. MAybe Im wrong....Maybe Im right. Only time will tell.
If you cant walk it..You prolly shouldnt talk it!!

Gaffney defense is not Gaffney defense without Littlejohn or Ellis.. those lack in positions were exploited... and you know how or why? Coaching... Byrnes coaches did their homework. Most Gaffney fans will be back when leadership changes, on ALL sides of the ball. And you know what else I notice, Byrnes NEVER has injuries to their main players.. I've never seen it.. something to that in my opinion.. I've never seen Byrnes limp into a big game missing the main offensive or defensive guys.

True. I haven't seen a more impactful player on defense than Littlejohn. He is a difference maker. Now would Byrnes have still beaten them last night? Yes. Byrnes is better. And better coaches. Not sure if it is the talent up front, or what. But you can run right at Gaffney this year like I haven't seen in a while. They gave up some chunk runs to Union right up the middle. That should never happen one of the supposed big time power 5A teams by any 3A team.

Good game Rebels. You guys got a heck of a team this year and you just might win it all. That Harris is a beast! As for Gaffney, I have pretty much lost all faith that this coaching staff can win a big game. It’s getting redundant at this point. The player development is lacking and athletes are saving them. I just can’t understand how they are still on the sidelines. It was so clear to see that Byrnes had done their homework and they looked much more developed. Gaffney football is in a pretty sad state right now and I hope it ends real soon.

Trust me Byrnes has plenty of injuries. Had a few more out there last night. One of our best receivers and special teams guy looks like he may have a broken collar bone. I hope not. We are down to like 35 players and that’s no joke. We look like a 2-A team out there. We used to have 60 plus players. I don’t know what had happened and why the kids in D-5 are not playing anymore. It’s hard to explain how we are doing well on the field. Give coach Shaw a lot of credit. He has taken a program that was once a powerhouse. Then torn into a shell of itself and somewhat built it back up

The numbers are there in the program. The SCHSL doing away with the 8 quarter rule changed everything. Byrnes and Shaw play a lot of kids on Thursday night to develop them and it’s starting to show on Friday night. Other schools don’t do that, because they want more on Friday night. However, those kids may never see the field until they are needed. Byrnes is developing kids on Thursday, then they will be ready for Friday when they are needed. We will dress our old numbers come playoff time. It’s honestly like a pro team with a practice squad. Byrnes believe that it’s useless to just dress kids on Friday night for nothing.

Think you may see that 8 qtr rule changed somewhere along the line. It obviously has a greater effect on the levels 3A and below as the coaches have some really tough decisions with numbers. Do they keep their best JV lineman on varsity in case of injury, or leave him down to give him sure reps. And it even leaks into 4A and 5A programs. Even at the bigger classifications many have eliminated C teams because of numbers. And that reduces the reps at that level. Don't know if they will change it, but know there is a lot of pressure to do so.
