2025 Schedules

Post by DFOLDMAN »

Curious to see the 2025 schedules. I believe DF has the same schedule as last year with the sites reversed. They have a jamboree scrimmage with the store-bought Injuns in the pre-season and a scrimmage with Blythewood I believe but have not seen much more than that. I know last season they scrimmaged Hartsville, Byrnes and Greenville, I think. Looking forward to seeing what's in store this season.

Last season champions were Abbeville, Clinton, Oceanside, South Florence, NW and DF- would be smart picks for this season but teams like Dillon, Gaffney, Spartanburg, and Summerville have other plans I suspect.

Won't be too long now.

I saw that Spartanburg posted their's on Twitter, and they open up with Northwestern and then Dutch Fork. I think everything after that is the same as last season. Talk about a tough way to open the season.

So they open with Northwestern? Seems strange to me as last season they opened with South Pointe and usually teams sign a 2 year deal with each team getting a home game...

Last season:
Spartanburg at South Pointe
Spartanburg vs Dutch Fork
Spartanburg at Broome
Spartanburg BYE
Spartanburg vs Eastside
Spartanburg vs BYE
Spartanburg at Dorman
Spartanburg vs Boiling Springs
Spartanburg vs Byrnes
Spartanburg at Riverside
Spartanburg at Gaffney
.

I think I will just enter the transfer portal!
I need to get me some of that NIL Money!

Looks like DF got another WR. Son of the WR coach at USC- Stone Furrey. More experience at that position with the WR from Pennsylvania coming. Looks good.

Like I've been saying, this is gonna be the best Dutch Fork team we have seen yet, everyone else is playing for second place.

South Pointe was scheduled to open the season at Spartanburg, but received an invite to play at Bank of America Stadium to open the season. They are playing Hough. With South Pointe going to BOA that left Spartanburg with a open date. Northwestern was scheduled to open the season in Charlotte as well at Memorial Stadium. Northwestern's opponent backed out and therefore left Northwestern with an open date to start the season. That's how Northwestern and Spartanburg game came about.

Well that makes sense, pretty cool that South Pointe gets to play at BOA.

You never know with teenagers what they are thinking and their motivation. Now Knotts is the best at getting peak performance out of the players he has every season- but at the end of the day they are kids playing a kid's game so who knows. I assume the schedule is the same with the Jamboree with Gaffney. Probably lose to that fancy team the Injuns have "acquired" during the off season since several key starters will either still be playing baseball or just finished up for the local Irmo summer league team and rusty- DF HS baseball team is 19-5 right now, so not too shabby and the Irmo summer team is solid as well. Offing, Salters, Cesario, Johnson etc... several starters play baseball too and will probably be a little rusty. It's a scrimmage so Knotts will be testing to see what he has- expect Gaffney to "win" the scrimmage - should be close I would think. DF won't be the same team come the end of October when he has the bugs worked out of the team. Let the Injuns try then. I expect the offense to be slightly better and the defense slightly off from last season, but both will be strong. The special teams don't get enough credit, but they are excellent. Spartanburg will be a tough test as always but even early on, I expect TK to find a way to win- hopefully by 10 or 12 points. Ridge View is another tough test, but DF has the depth and coaching advantage- DF should win comfortably but it will be a good game. Gray and Oceanside I kinda lump together as the local football factories but they are much smaller schools and the "too big, too strong, too fast, too many, too well coached" adage comes to mind - again DF should win comfortably but competitive games. On to region- Chapin is first. Decent 5A team but there is gap there and DF "should" win handily. White Knoll is next and if Pelham is still there (along with Irmo) will be the best team in region DF faces. WK loses their stud QB Landon Sharpe so I am not sure what they have to fill his shoes- defense will be good not sure about their offense. Again, DF should win this game comfortably but also competitive. Lexington was off last year it seemed- good talent just not sure what the issue was/is again competitive but comfortable win. River Bluff lost their HC but got a good one in Perry Parks. I expect RB to throw the ball more though they have a good RB returning so not sure what to expect from them. Quality depth is the thing that separates DF from RB and though a good game, DF should handle them. Then Irmo.... they lost the franchise QB and WR. That is a lot to replace. Brand was the motor that ran the Irmo offense. Along with WK and maybe RB, I expect IHS to be the toughest test. Big rival game but you have to like the Foxes in that one. Then playoffs and DF is a completely different animal when that rolls around.

But like Reb said too many variables to know too much...injuries, etc. Just have to wait and see.
